Prayer Life

Do you have a prayer life? Do you know what one is? Do you know what one looks like? Have you ever tried? The movie "War Room" starring Priscilla Shirer, the devout daughter of Christ Jesus, as well as a daughter of Tony Evans, reveals both the intention and results of powerful prayer.

We all need prayer. We all should be intentionally doing prayer. We all should be drawn to devout prayer. Why? Why is it that we should be in prayer constantly? It's because God calls us to prayer (Job 22:7), reveals what praying is and does (Jeremiah 29:12), and shows us how to pray, (Matthew 6:9-13). In addition to these three examples, God's Word possesses over 83 more! If you forget how to pray, remember A.C.T.S.

-Adoration - first, recognize, praise, and honor God first and foremost.

-Confess - admit the sin you've committed, pray He forgives, and He will for a repentant, behavior-changing soul.

-Thanksgiving - thank Him for all he's already done, He is doing now, and whatever it is, He has yet to be done.

-Supplication - Only then, when the first three are completed, is it fit and proper to pray for and on behalf of others.

We must recognize who He is. Confess what we've done outside of His will. Be thankful. Always be thankful for Him. Intercede on behalf of others. It's that simple. And you know, He knows every word uttered in prayer before it gets uttered (Psalm 139:4), because it's not about what we say to Him, its the time we spend with Him, drawing closer to Him, becoming more like Him, that truly pleases Him.So, if your prayer life is on life-support. If your prayer life is barely breathing. If your prayer life is dead. There still remains time for you. Go to Him. Call on Him. Honor Him. Receive Him.

If your prayer life is thriving, stay the course. Show others what that looks like as you continue to draw closer to Him. He wants us because He loves us. We should also want Him because He loves us. Pray daily. Pray in the morning. Pray at noontime. Pray at night. Pray at every possible chance. What are you waiting for? Pray right now! 🙏
