#WanderingWarrior

I have had many situations where I needed help and looking for the right person. When I wanted to grow in my spiritual journey, I knew I wanted something of significance and not just another bible study. Sitting at my desk one afternoon in August of 2023, and a phrase pops into my mind, "#WanderingWarrior, Not all who wander are lost".  Well that is an interesting expression, I thought. And then the sense, "write this down" I felt impressed. So I grabbed a sticky note and wrote it down. Then I heard God tell me to find scripture to what could this mean.

Matthew 28:19-20- 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Isaiah 42:13- The Lord will go out like a powerful soldier. He will be ready like a man of war. He will call out, yes, He will call out a war cry. He will be strong against those who hate Him.

Joshua 5:6- For the people of Israel walked forty years in the desert, until all the men of war who came out of Egypt died, because they did not listen to the voice of the Lord. The Lord had promised them that He would not let them see the land He had promised to their fathers to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey.

Hebrews 11:34- and stopped fire that was burning. They got away from being killed with swords. They were made strong again after they had been weak and sick. They were strong in war. They made fighting men from other countries run home.

These made me search for some deeper meaning. These scriptures reflect themes of mission, strength, perseverance and victory in faith. Two weeks later I was introduced to Warrior Training School (WTS) and knew I had found what God was talking about - The Wandering Warrior. This community of believers has the same desire to grow and learn as I do. We envoke courisity and conviction in each other. We are generous with our time and resources. We look out for one another and we PRAY with and for each other daily. There is a beautiful alignment of scriptual call to make disciples, fight spiritual battles and support one another.

In the beginning I wasn't concerned at what God was asking me. After all I have been a missionary to foreign lands- Honduras, Mexico and Philippines, so what would be more challenging than that? This challenge has stretched me to be bolder in leadership, understand new concepts and encourage others to grow in their own journey of faith. This is where Hebrews 11:34 shows us where faith turns our weakness into strengths and equips believers for spiritual battles.

From this I am encouraged to keep listening for the moments when God is speaking and write it down. Keep a journal, a log book, a digital note and you will be as amazed as I am at how often these moments can show up, to pause and look back over time is inspiring to continue the process. As we grow in this process we become confidant in stepping out with boldness. That is when we will seek out opportunities to lead by example, foster curiosity and conviction in others. This connection in our WTS community is a GIFT.

WTS is teaching me about how to be a better leader for our EKB World Ministry. How to grow a team that lets each person shine in the gifts God has given them and the role they are too fulfill. I am proud and grateful to be a #WanderingWarror who gets to travel the world sharing the Good News of Gods grace and love. I get to be a part of this amazing journey that is EKB World and have a front row seat to the incredible ministry God is doing here in the Philippines. Where is God calling your to be a Wandering Warrior?

If you want to explore this a bit deeper read and meditate on Psalm 18:32-34 and Ephesians 6:10-18 (my personal favorite that I pray over our school and my family daily) These can deepen the understanding of the calling God has for you.
